• We ride on: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Riders from the Southend Section of the Forty Plus Cycling Club meet, on Tuesdays and Thursday, in Rayleigh High Street at the top of Crown Hill and join others at the Rettendon Roundabout (the old Turnpike) and at an elevenses stop. As well as the Southend area we have riders from other places in Essex such as Hadleigh, Benfleet, Woodham Ferrers, Cold Norton, Burnham on Crouch, Wickford, Basildon, Billericay, Chelmsford, Danbury, Canvey Island and Writtle. We stop for lunch, usually at an Essex pub. Details of the runs can be seen by following the links above. Some riders come with us only part of the way.

New members are welcome. The Section Secretary, Graham Kirby, will be pleased to hear from you.

COVID-19 Lockdown Photos

The COVID-19 lockdown has been a unique part of history and cycling has been a joy on empty roads. However, we have not been able to ride as a section only small groups, pairs or individually. Follow this link to see a larger number of photos of this time: Lockdown Photos.

Cognac 2019 – Semaine Federale

Keith has kindly sent me some photos of the Semaine Federale which took place in Cognac 2019. Hopefully this will remind you of some better times. See more photos here Cognac 2019

The 2020 Puncture Competition has been abandoned for obvious reasons. We will restart sometime in 2021 (hopefully). Last year’s winner, Terry P, can keep the prize for a second year.
